1. 72 Hour Initial Health Guarantee

We provide a 72 hour health evaluation period after your kitten arrives in your home.

Within 72 hours of delivery, your kitten must be examined by a licensed veterinarian. If your veterinarian identifies a serious or life altering health condition that was present prior to adoption and not caused by travel stress or environmental changes, you must notify us immediately.

After review of the diagnosis, we will work with you in good faith to determine a fair resolution, which may include:

  • A replacement kitten of equal value when available

  • Consultation and guidance from our veterinarian

  • Supportive care recommendations

This guarantee ensures that your kitten arrives healthy, stable, and ready to begin bonding with your family.

2. One Year Genetic Health Guarantee

We are committed to responsible and ethical breeding practices that prioritize genetic health and stability. Every kitten from Milton Cattery  is covered by a one year genetic health guarantee.

If your kitten is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian with a serious genetic or hereditary condition within one year of adoption that significantly impacts quality of life or lifespan, we will offer a replacement kitten at no additional cost.

Covered conditions include major hereditary disorders confirmed through veterinary diagnosis.

This guarantee reflects our confidence in our bloodlines and our dedication to preserving the health and integrity of the Maine Coon breed.

3. Comprehensive Veterinary Clearance Before Departure

No kitten leaves our care without full veterinary clearance. Prior to delivery or shipping, each kitten receives:

  • A complete physical examination

  • Age appropriate vaccinations

  • Routine deworming treatments

  • FIV and FELV testing when applicable

  • General wellness assessment

  • Official veterinary health certificate

These steps ensure your kitten is healthy, strong, and prepared for a safe and comfortable transition into their new home.

4. Raised in a Clean and Loving Home Environment

A kitten’s early environment plays a critical role in long term health and temperament. At Milton Cattery , all kittens are:

  • Raised indoors

  • Never kept in cages

  • Surrounded by family interaction

  • Socialized with children and adults

  • Exposed to everyday household routines

Our environment is carefully maintained, sanitized regularly, climate controlled, and enriched with toys, climbing structures, and interactive play. This approach supports strong immune systems, emotional stability, and confident personalities.

We provide high quality nutrition and closely monitor growth and development from the earliest stages of life.

5. Limitations of the Health Guarantee

This Health Guarantee does not cover conditions that arise from circumstances beyond our control, including:

  • Accidents or injuries after arrival

  • Neglect, improper care, or unsanitary living conditions

  • Illness caused by exposure to other animals

  • Stress related conditions after travel

  • Parasites such as fleas, ticks, or worms

  • Minor or easily treatable kitten conditions

  • Vaccine reactions

  • FIP, as no breeder can ethically guarantee against it

Veterinary expenses after the kitten has left our care are not covered unless explicitly stated in writing.

We believe in transparency and fairness and expect all families to provide proper nutrition, routine veterinary care, and a safe, loving environment.
